Williams leads the Falcons to the #1 seed |
Senior Louis Williams (Burlington, VT) was the top scorer for Fisher (13-14 / 9-3) as he dropped in 16 points while playing all 40 minutes. Classmates and fellow captains, Casey Pursell (Seattle, WA) and Oscar Brown (Buffalo, NY) also contributed with double-digit games as they added 15 points and 11 points, respectively. Brown also collected a game high 17 rebounds as he recorded his 8th double-double of the season. Rounding the starting five, who all scored in double figures, are senior Christiaan Hammond (Seattle, WA) who scored 11 points and junior Dennis Norford (New Haven, CT) who had his team leading 9th double-double; 14 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Daniel Nance (Brooklyn, NY) added 12 points off the bench.
Fisher will now have an entire week to prepare for the Tournament which will be held on Saturday, February 26 and Sunday, February 27 in Windham, Maine. The #1 seeded Falcons will take on the #4 seed, College of Saint Joseph's in a 3 pm game on Saturday. Winner will advance to the Conference Championship game and play the winner of #2 Maine-Fort Kent and #3 Vermont Tech.
In their two previous meetings this season, Fisher is 2-0 against College of St. Joseph's. The Falcons won on the road at CSJ, 93-89 on January 8 and won 90-83 at home on senior night last Wednesday.

Women's Basketball
In their final game of the 2010-2011 season, the Lady Falcons fell to the State University of New York-Canton, 61-27.
Senior Tiffany Beckman (East Hartford, CT) led the team in scoring with 9 points as she played in her last game. Beckman finishes her outstanding career with 1,292 points, the only Lady Falcons to accomplish the 1,000 point plateau. She averaged 13.1 points per game over her four seasons (99 games) and collected over 500 rebounds. Freshman Javanna Bernard (Waterbury, CT) also added 8 points in the loss.
First year Head Coach Sabra Wrice and the Lady Falcons finish 2010-2011 with an overall record of 7-16 and a 4-8 mark in Sunrise Conference play. The seven wins is just one win shy of the program record for wins in a season.
