Baseball drops Game One at Siena Heights

Reynaldo Nunez extended his hitting streak to 12 games in the loss

Adrian, MI - After making the nearly 800 mile trip to Adrian, Michigan, the Fisher College Baseball team lost game one of the five game weekend set this afternoon by a final score of 11-1.

For Fisher College, senior Rob Mondello (Haverhill, MA) was the starting pitcher. He pitched 7.0 innings, allowing Siena Heights six runs (five earned) on six hits and struck out two. A quartet of relief pitchers came in during the eighth inning and gave up five runs while only recording two outs.

Offensively for Fisher, they banged out nine hits and scored only one run. That run was scored in the top half of the eighth inning. With one out, junior Jose Rodriguez (Clermont, FL) doubled and scored on senior Edwin Pena's (Union City, NJ) sacrifice fly to left field. Junior Reynaldo Nunez (Santiago, Dominican Republic) extended his hitting streak to eleven games as he went 2-for-4. Also recording a multi-hit game were Rodriguez and senior Alfredo Torres (Lawrence, MA). Rodriguez was 2-for-4 and Torres went 2-for-3.

Fisher and Siena Heights will play games two and three of this five game set tomorrow afternoon. Game time is set for 1 pm (cst).
