Freshman sensation leads Fisher Women to third straight win

Bernard's 27 points lead Fisher to victory
Lynn, MA – The Fisher College Women’s Basketball team remain unbeaten in the 2011 calendar year as they defeated visiting Green Mountain College, 66-61.

Freshman Javanna Bernard (Waterbury, CT) paced the Fisher offense as she scored a game high 27 points while connecting on 4-of-8 from beyond the arc.

Fisher (4-8/2-0) jumped out to a 34-28 halftime thanks in large part to freshman Kimberly Woolley (Rollinsford, NH). Woolley scored 13 of her 15 points in the half while Bernard added 14 points.

In the second half, senior Tiffany Beckman (East Hartford, CT) and junior Leslie Wadhams (Burlington, VT) caught fire. Beckman scored 7 of her 10 points and Wadhams added 10 points. Beckman was able to put the game out of reach as she sank three free throws within the final 15 seconds of play to give Fisher a five point lead.
