Hammond's 32 points not enough as Fisher loses 97-91 in Overtime

Senior Christaan Hammond
In what the best game of the season, the Fisher College Falcons came up on the wrong end, losing 97-91 in overtime to Sunrise Conference opponent Vermont Technical College.

It was a back-and-forth game as the teams traded runs in the first half but it was Fisher College senior Christaan Hammond (Seattle, WA) that gave the Falcons (9-13/5-3) a 45-39 halftime lead thanks in large part to his 24 first half points.

Vermont Tech (11-4 / 7-4) was able to battle back in the second and tie the game at 82 inside thirty seconds to play. However, Fisher was unable to get off a last second shot so to overtime we went.

In the extra 5 minute period, Vermont Tech was able to outscore Fisher, 15-9 to take home the win.

Senior Oscar Brown (Buffalo, NY) played outstanding the loss as he recorded a 20-20 double double. He finished the night with 24 points and 20 rebounds while junior Dennis Norford (New Haven, CT) also added 24 points.

Fisher will return to action this Saturday afternoon as the host the University of Maine-Presque Isle in a Sunrise Conference match-up. Game time is set for 3pm at the Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, MA.
