Fisher Women drop another one, 88-25
Purchase, NY - Manhattanville College's Simona Gordon scored 15 points as she led the Lady Valliants to an 88-25 victory over Fisher College. For Fisher, freshman Darneisha Ruffin (Stoughton, MA) scored a career high 11 points.
The women will return to action next Tuesday night when they travel to Poultney, VT and take on Green Mountain College.
Fisher Men roll to an 81-66 win over Nichols College
Dudley, MA - Junior Christaan Hammond (Seattle, WA) scored 25 points as the visiting Falcons beat Nichols College, 81-66. Hammond, along with sophomore Dennis Norford (New Haven, CT) kept the Falcon offense alive all night. Norford contributed 17 points and both senior Ryan Henry (Westwood, NJ) and junior Louis Williams (Burlington, VT) added 14 points apiece. With the win, Fisher improves to 4-1 on the season.
The men's team will enjoy their Thanksgiving break as their next game will be next Tuesday, December 1st when they take on Hesser College. Game time is set for 7pm at Madison Park Community Center.

Basketball, Men Win - Women Lose
Houghton upends Fisher Women, 67-36
Roxbury, MA - The visiting Lady Highlanders had three players score in double digits as they beat Fisher by a score of 67-36. Senior Jackie Streeter (Westminster, MA) scored a career high 12 points and collected 5 rebounds to lead the Fisher offense.
The women's team will head on the road for their next game as they travel to Purchase, NY to take on Manhattanville College. Game time is set for 6pm.
Pursell's 20 points, leads Fisher Men to an 83-61 win against Lesley
Bristol, RI - Junior Casey Pursell (Seattle, WA) scored 20 points and the Fisher Men's Basketball team beat Lesley University, 83-61 today in the consolation game of the 2009 Courtyard by Marriott at Roger Williams University. Junior Louis Williams (Burlington, VT) added 19 points and was named to the All Tournament Team. In two games, Williams scored 37 points as Fisher College took home third place. Junior Christaan Hammond (Seattle, WA) contributed with 14 points and junior Oscar Brown (Buffalo, NY) chipped in with 10 points. Fisher shot 45.1% from the floor in the game and had a 39-31 lead at half time.

Fisher Women lose big to Mansfield University
Roxbury, MA - Senior Kianesha Dennis (Lynn, MA) and junior Tiffany Beckman (East Hartford, CT) each scored 11 points but that wasn't enough as the visiting Mansfield University won easily, 94-33. For the Lady Mountaineers, Mallory Hafer scored 25 points while Mallory Moore, Sydnee Reeves and Nicole Pender chipped in with double digit points. Senior Jackie Streeter (Westminster, MA) collected 9 rebounds to lead the team tonight.
The women will return to the hardwood tomorrow afternoon when they take on Houghton College in a 1pm contest. Houghton is coming off a very impressive 75-51 win over fellow Sunrise Conference opponent University of Maine at Fort Kent.

Bristol, RI - A game tying jumper with less than 5 seconds didn't make it and the Fisher Men suffered their first lost of the 2009-2010 season. Junior Louis Williams (Burlington, VT) scored 18 points while fellow classmate Casey Pursell (Seattle, WA) added 14 points. Senior Ryan Henry (Westwood, NJ) and junior Daniel Nance (Brooklyn, NY) also chipped in with 10 points apiece.
Fisher started out hot, shooting 55.9% from the floor en route to a 43-37 halftime lead. Williams lit up the court as he scored 14 of his 18 in the first half (6-10, 2 3pointers). When the second half began, Trinity College caught fire and shot 53.3% and a back and fourth game ensued. The score was tied at 75 with less than a minute to play. Trinity's John Pike drilled a short jumper, which eventually became the game winner. Fisher still had another shot to tie the game. With three seconds left on the clock, junior Christaan Hammond (Seattle, WA) drove down the lane and floated the ball towards the net. The ball hit the rim and fell to floor, where Trinity's Brian Ford collected the rebound and was fouled with a second remaining. He would sink his two free throws and Trinity College survived and advances to the Championship Game against host Roger Williams University.

Fisher Basketball Splits with Maine-Augusta
Roxbury, MA - The Fisher College Basketball teams split their double header today versus the University of Maine at Augusta. In the first game, the visiting Lady Moose beat the Lady Falcons, 63-53. Junior Tiffany Beckman (East Hartford, CT) scored 15 points and both seniors Jackie Streeter (Westminster, MA) and Kianesha Dennis (Lynn, MA) collected 10 rebounds each but that wasn't enough to pull out the victory.
In the second game, three different Falcons scored 16 points as the Men's team improves to 2-0 with a 88-69 win versus Maine at Augusta. Juniors Christaan Hammond (Seattle, WA), Louis Williams (Burlington, VT) and Oscar Brown (Buffalo, NY) led the team with 16 points apiece. Junior Casey Pursell (Seattle, WA) collected 12 rebounds.

Lawrence, MA - The Fisher College Men's Soccer team dropped its final game of the season today, 5-0 against Sunrise Conference opponent University of Maine at Machias. With the loss, Fisher finishes with a 2-15-1 record.

Manchester, NH - Freshman Jasmin Handanovic (Milford, NH) scored 31 points as the Fisher Men's Basketball team captured the 2009 Hesser College Tip Off Tournament Tittle. Fisher won easily 113-42 over Northern Maine. Junior Christaan Hammond (Seattle, WA) was named tournament MVP and fellow classmate Casey Pursell (Seattle, WA) was named to the All Tournament team.
The Men will return to action this Friday, November 13th, as they take on the University of Maine at Augusta. Game time is set for 8pm at Madison Park Community Center in Roxbury, MA.

Lawrence, MA - The Fisher Men's Soccer team fell to the visiting University of Maine at Presque Isle today by a score of 5-0. The soccer team will close out the season tomorrow with a 12pm start against the University of Maine at Machias.

Manchester, NH - Both the Fisher Women's and Men's Basketball teams competed in the annual Hesser College Tip Off Classic Tournament this afternoon. The Men played the first game and beat the host Hesser College, 76-57. Christian Hammond (Seattle, WA) led the team with 17 points and junior Casey Pursell (Seattle, WA) chipped in 16 points to pace the Falcon offense. In the women's game, junior Tiffany Beckman (East Hartford, CT) scored 16 points and senior Leslie Wadhams (Burlington, VT) added 13, as the women lost 62-58 to Briarcliffe College in the opening round of the Hesser College Tip Off Classic Tournament.
Basketball will continue tomorrow with the women playing at 10am and the men playing at 4pm.

Fisher loses home opener
Boston, MA - The Fisher College Women's Basketball season kicked off tonight by hosting #24 Cardinal Stritch (WI) in an NAIA Division II Non-Conference game. Cardinal Stritch came in and took care of business as they won easily, 91-23.
Fisher was lead by junior Tiffany Beckman (East Hartford, CT) who scored a team high 8 points.
The women's basketball team will return to the court tomorrow when they open up play in the Hesser College Invitational.
