Men’s Basketball adds strong recruiting class for 2011-2012 season

Boston, MA - Coach Dave Lindberg has announced the signing of eleven new student-athletes that will help the Falcons challenge for an American Mideast Conference championship. “This group should be a nice compliment to the returners already in our program.  We have hard working young men already here, and this group should add to that.” A sold mix of transfers and freshmen has Coach Lindberg very excited about the upcoming season and expects great things from this year’s team.

“I could not be happier with our incoming class.  We are bringing in a nice mix of experienced guys from strong programs, as well as true freshman who are ready to complete,” said Coach Lindberg. “I like our athleticism and the personalities that each of these young men bring with them.”

Ryan McCorkle – (JR- Transfer) Bellevue, WA/ Shoreline CC/ 6-5 Forward

Ryan is a transfer from Shoreline Community College in Shoreline, Washington.  During his second year at Shoreline CC, McCorkle helped improve the team to a 19-7 overall record.  During his senior season at Skyline HS, Ryan received 2nd team All-League Honors.  At 6-5, Ryan can play both on the wing and in the post.  McCorkle will bring size and experience to this year’s recruiting class.

Zachary Campbell – (SO-Transfer) Cape Coral, FL/ Lasell College/ 6-5 Forward

Campbell, a 6-5 transfer from Lasell College in Newton, MA, is coming off an extremely successful freshman season where he started 15 games.  A graduate of Ida A. Baker HS in Florida, Campbell averaged 12.5 ppg and 9 rpg during his senior season.  A solid passer from the post position, Zachary will be able to extend beyond the arc with consistency for the Falcons making him a huge threat in the offense.

Orlando Zayas – (SO- Transfer) East Boston, MA/ Keene State/ 6-5 Forward

Orlando was a four year player at East Boston HS, where he led the Jets to three Boston City Championships while being named to the Boston City North All-Star team as a senior.  A 6-5 transfer from Keene State in New Hampshire, Orlando will bring a wide body with quickness to the Falcons. 

Alan Womack – (FR) Philadelphia, PA/ Math, Civics and Science Charter School/ 6-3 Guard/ Forward

A wiry 6-4 wing player from Philadelphia, PA, Womack helped lead his high school to a 22-6 record during his senior season.  Alan is very long and athletic, who can get to the rim consistently.  Womack averaged 5 ppg and 4 rpg as a senior at the Math, Civics and Science Charter School.

Mike Thweatt – (FR) Charlestown, RI/ Chariho Regional HS/ 6-4 Guard/ Forward

Thweatt averaged a solid 10.4 ppg and 2 rpg during his senior season at Chariho Regional in 2010. Mike has a knack for getting to the rim and has the ability to knock down the mid-range jumper. The 6-4 wing player will compete for minutes at both the 2-guard and small forward positions.


Antonio Mitchell – (FR) Detroit, MI/ Henry Ford Academy/ 6-1 Guard

An athletic 2-guard who averaged 10 ppg and 4 apg during his senior year at Henry Ford Academy in Detroit, MI, Mitchell has a knack for getting to the free throw line.  Antonio was a team captain and All-League performer for Henry Ford Academy during his senior season.

Tyler Shular – (FR) Norwalk, CT/ Brien McMahon HS/ 6-3 Guard/ Forward

Shular comes to Fisher following a successful high school career at Brien McMahon in Connecticut where he helped lead his team to a 17-6 record during his senior year.  The skilled wing player will bring some size and depth to the program and has the ability to consistently make shots from behind the arc.

Chris Green – (FR) Middle Island, NY/ NIA Prep/ 6-3 Forward

Green arrives on the Fisher campus after spending a year at NIA Prep in Newark, NJ.  Before NIA, Chris led his Longwood (NY) High School to a 19-3 overall record.  He averaged 9 ppg and 3 rpg during his senior season and has played against some of the best talent in the nation.  The 6-3 guard’s experience should prove vital to the Falcons.

Sam Nwadike – (FR) Houston, TX/ Elsik HS/ 6-1 Guard

A consistent jump shooter that can extend the floor, Nwadike is a very athletic guard from Houston, Texas.  The 6-1 guard was a key member of the Elsik HS team that finished his senior season with a 18-10 record.  A hard working student, Sam will be enrolled in the Honors Program at Fisher College.

Fabrice Felix – (FR) Providence, RI/ E-Cubed Academy/ 6-4 Forward

An undersized post player at 6-4, Felix outworks most opponents with tenacity and effort.  A high energy player, Fabrice will greatly influence the program with his effort and work ethic.

Kevin Chagnon – (FR) Pittsfield, NH/ Pittsfield HS/ 6-1 Guard

Kevin helped lead his Pittsfield (NH) High School to ta 13-10 record while averaging 10.5 ppg and 5 rpg. Chagnon is a very good shooter from behind the three point line and has experience running a team from the point guard position.  Kevin was selected to play in the Senior North-South Game in 2011.

Fisher Baseball welcomes seven new student-athletes to the program

Alex Fowler - Alton, MD RHP


Coach Scott Dulin has announced seven new members to the Fisher College Baseball Program.  The incoming student-athletes will join the Falcons program that won its 7th consecutive Sunrise Conference Championship in 2011 and will now compete in the American Mideast Conference.
Johann Knee – (JR-Transfer) Gaithersburg, MD/ Montgomery College. INF/ UTL
Johann will add great depth and versatility to the program with his ability to play all over the field as well as catcher.  “Johann is a driven individual who will play the game the right way and has a knack for driving in runs,” said Coach Dulin of Knee. “His character and personality will be a good influence on this year’s team and program.”
This summer while playing for the Carolina Hurricanes in the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League, Knee hit .315 with 30 RBI and 10 SB and defensively played all over the field.  Johann Knee is a solid player with great work ethic who will really complement Fisher’s style of play.
Pedro Escarfullery – (SO- Transfer) Waterbury, CT/ Post University. OF
Pedro is a big strong player that will provide an instant impact on this year’s team.  Escarfullery has the ability to change a game with his speed and arm as well as provide pop to the middle of the lineup. “After graduating key members to last year’s lineup, Pedro will help the transition to this new look team.  His speed will add another dimension to the lineup,” said Coach Dulin.

Alex Fowler – (FR) Alton, MD/ North Point HS. RHP

Alex finished his senior season at North Point HS with 6-2 record while leading his team deep into the state tournament.  While playing Legion this past summer, Fowler won another 6 games and led his team to the Maryland state title.   Coach Dulin is looking forward to Fowler making an immediate impact to this year’s team with his ability to throw 3 pitches for strike.

 “Alex is a proven winner wherever he plays. He pounds the zone with 3 pitches a will be a big time contributor this season.  He has a bull dog mentality and wants the ball in all situations. He will be a great fit to this club.” – Coach Scott Dulin.      

Dominic Zaher – (FR) Chelmsford, MA/ Chelmsford HS. OF

Zaher arrives on the Fisher campus after a stellar senior season for Chelmsford HS where he was awarded the Team MVP, All- League Selection, and Lowell Sun All-Star while also being selected to play in the All Star “Old Time” game.

For Chelmsford, Zaher batted ,436 and led the team in RBI and stolen bases. During his summer Legion season, he batted over .500. He is a hard working player with plenty of speed and a plus arm.  Zaher has also shown the ability to hit the long ball. “Dom is the type of player coaches dream about.  His passion for the game and his abilities will make him a winner.  His combination of speed and power will make him a good fit in this lineup.”

Christopher Cantu – (FR) Alamo, TX/ Pharr-San Juan Alamo Memorial HS. RHP/3B

Chris was a 1st team All- District Pitcher and a 2nd Team All-District 3B during his senior season in 2011 at PSJA Memorial HS.  This summer, Chris helped lead his Senior Babe Ruth team to the semi-finals of the Texas State Tournament. Cantu was selected to the Babe Ruth All-Star team after his successful summer.

As a 2-way player, Cantu will add talent to the depth of this team. Coach Dulin said of Cantu, “Chris is a great character kid who can play the game.  He’s watched us play in Texas and knows what it will take to help us have a successful season.”

Connor O’Brien – (FR) Wakefield, MA/ Wakefield HS. RHP/UTL

Connor is coming to Fisher College after a senior season at Wakefield HS where he was named the Team MVP.  His athleticism allows him to be a solid performer on the mound and in the field at any position. Connor plays for the Wakefield Legion and Senior Babe Ruth team along with playing in the Inner City League.

“Connor adds some depth to the mound and all over the field.  With the type of schedule we play, he will play a key role with his versatility.” – Coach Dulin

Dean Morales – (FR) Cape Coral, FL/ Ida S. Baker HS. OF

Dean is a player who will add speed to the team. He has the ability to cover ground in the outfield and has a plus arm that will help the Falcons in many ways.

“Dean’s hard nose, no nonsense mentality and approach to the game will be contagious.  He possesses tremendous speed and it will play a vital role in the success of this year’s team.”

Coach Lindberg releases 2011-2012 schedule for the Fisher College Falcons Men’s Basketball program


Boston, MA - After winning four Sunrise Conference championships in the past six seasons, the Fisher College Men’s Basketball team looks to continue their success as they enter a new conference.  The Falcons will be competing in the American Mideast Conference for the first time alongside Roberts Wesleyan College, Walsh University, Wilberforce University, Houghton College, Daemen College and Point Park University.
Coach Dave Lindberg and his team will begin their regular season on November 2nd when they travel to South Portland, Maine to take on the University of Maine- Augusta.  The Falcons’ home opener will be on Friday, November 4th when AMC rival Roberts Wesleyan College travels to Boston.
After a three game home stand, the Falcons will travel to Bristol, Rhode Island to take part in the Roger Williams University Tip-Off Tournament on November 19th and 20th.  Fisher will take part in two more tournaments during the season including the Colby College Tournament in Waterville, Maine on December 3rd and 4th as well as the Daemen College Tournament in Buffalo, New York on December 21st and 22nd.
The turn of the New Year will see a lot less travel for the Fisher Falcons.  The Falcons will play nine of the ten games in January at home including American Mideast Conference games versus Houghton College on January 7th, Wilberforce University on January 14th, and Daemen College on January 21st.
On February 2nd and 3rd the Falcons will travel to upstate New York to take on Roberts Wesleyan College and Houghton College.  They will close out their American Mideast regular season with a trip to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for a match up with Point Park University on February 12th.
The Falcons will conclude their regular season on February 16th when the University of Maine – Augusta makes the trip to Boston.
